The Catch 2.0 - Super Bowl LI

This painting is a illustration of The Catch 2.0 during Super Bowl LI. Edelman of the Patriots was able to get his hands around and under the football just before it hit the ground.

Even Tom Brady was amazed and commented

"I don't know how the hell he caught that ball!"

This was the season for the Patriots to be hated ...and they pretty much earned it. However, it didn't get in the way of what they do best, which is simply win.

A fun game to watch because I was no invested in either team, but wanted to watch a good game between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots.

It was a great game.

This painting was sold to my biggest supporter.

Thank you Rick Heinz for taking interest in my work and I am looking forward to you getting this painting signed and using it to raise money for the fight against cancer. The Catch 1.0. The original and impossible snag and grab to keep the ball in play back in Super Bowl XLII by player David Tyree of the New York Giants.

Some history about the first catch.

Down 14-10 with 1:16 left in Super Bowl XLII against the undefeated New England Patriots, the Giants faced a third-and-five on their own 44-yard line. On that play, quarterback Eli Manning escaped several New England defenders and threw up a desperation heave to David Tyree, a receiver who was seldom-used during the season. In a jump ball against safety Rodney Harrison, Tyree caught the ball by pinning it against his helmet, securing a 32-yard gain.
