Q. When did you create this painting of John Elway holding up Lombardi Trophy (larger image see below)

A. This was painted back in 2004. I was doing a series of Super Bowl paintings and this one was part of the series.

Q. What other paintings are part of that "Super Bowl" series you mentioned?

A. In 2004, I started creating a series of Super Bowl paintings from recent years and I started with this image of John Elway in Super Bowl XXXII

Q. Is it sold?

A. The original 24"x36" painting is sold, but I am gearing up to sell limited edition reproduction prints in the next few months. This image will be available as a limited edition fine art print.

Q. What's your painting style.

A. I would describe my style as "cool" art. That is the word most people use when responding to my artwork. I began painting sports art years ago (2002) and have kept at it because it is always interesting to me.

Q. What interests you most about sports art?

A. I guess the stories behind the sports are what I like to paint the most. The spirit of competition is what catches my attention most.

Q. Do you play a lot of sports?

A. I used to when I was younger. I am 47 years old now so I have to keep myself as injury free as possible. I realized when I turned 40 that I don't recover from injuries like I used to when I was 25 or even 30.

Q. What is your favorite sports related activity?

A. I enjoy skiing with my family (when we can afford it) and my wife and I try to walk around Clement Park every evening. Three times around the park (lake) is about 3.5 miles so we do that almost everyday. I know that sounds like an old person response, and it is ....because I am getting old.

Q. As you get older, do you think your painting is improving.

A. Ah well, I would say yes because ten years ago back in 2006 I was painting on smaller canvas (usually 24"x36" size) and trying to crank out as many of those as possible. I was going to quantity and not quality. Today, I am creating more quality.
